Who is Sailor Jim?

Who is Sailor Jim?
Sailor Jim, aka Big Jim McQueen, was my father (1927~1989). Sailor Jim was a lively, amazing individual who did remarkable things. As a child he toted blocks of ice to deliver to peoples homes(often times up several flights of stairs -in the days before refrigeration), then joined the US Navy at the age of 15, lying to get admittance, afterward he became a professional heavy-weight boxer in the 1940's. These were just a few of his occupations. Incredible adventures were had with this journeys around the world. He always loved music and would belt out a song at any given moment. A generous and larger than life individual we felt Sailor Jim would be a great representative of UKE Republic. ~ Mike McQueen, Owner of UKE Republic
